2026: Reply to Against SURA

In Scott Alexander’s Against SURA Seems Deeply Confused (2026-11-02, crossposted from his Substack), he argued that the default for anyone helping build something that might kill everyone should be to stop. He distinguished Absurd, Strong, and Weak versions of SURA, placed himself on the Weak version, and conceded that the Strong version is right if a realistic rushed alignment effort is very likely to fail.
